Fee contract for interpretation and translation services for the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung – New York Office’s Organizing Training program for 2025
The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung – New York Office (further: RLS NYC) is looking for a comprehensive interpretation and translation for an organizer/labor training program to run as the flagship training offering for the year 2025.

The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung is an internationally operating, progressive nonprofit institution for civic education. The foundation’s New York Office is part of the global network of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung since 2012. It serves two major tasks: to work on issues concerning the United Nations, including collaboration with people and political representatives from the Global South, and to work with North American (US and Canadian) progressives in universities, unions, social movements, progressive institutions and think tanks. The office’s Director is Stefan Liebich.
Tasks
Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung – New York Office is seeking an interpreter and translator with demonstrated proficiency in simultaneous interpretation services for an online (zoom based) organizing training program to help interested workers, organizers and activist’s build power within their communities to bargain for their interests. The interpretation will be offered in multiple languages and allow for a large capacity and swath of working class groups to learn techniques and principles of organizing and persuading peers. RLS is interested in all interpretation languages and translation services to allow for the greatest reach of this program. Those with experience and interest in interpretation and/translation of a program working with non-profit organizations, labor unions, collectives and activist networks are particularly desired.
The main tasks include:
- Interpreting of weekly trainings beginning in Mid-February until late March (~20 hours total per language)
- Translate materials for implementation of program in multiple languages
- At least one paid preparatory session of (90-120 minutes)
Scope and duration of the contract
The scope of work may vary depending upon size and schedule of the program but is expected to be at least for Spring 2025 with 1 day per week commitment to live interpretation.

Applicants should submit an offer stating prices: (per word) for written translation, and (per hour) for revision of materials.. We also request a brief overview of previous programmatic outcomes. You are welcome to accompany your application with a short letter of motivation.
If applicants are subject to VAT, this must be stated in the application. The VAT will then be paid additionally. If no notification is made, the gross amount will be charged.
