EU governments want to deter and thus limit migration. Higher walls, more controls, detentions, deportations.
But deportations do not stop people from migrating. Many Tunisians try the dangerous crossing over the Mediterranean once again. The danger of the journey is preferred to unemployment and poverty. This animation by Brush&Bow and Leonard Ermel tells the story of one, by Ahmed, to show the movement of the many.
