Call for Case Stories on Non-Economic Loss & Damage
We are pleased to share a call for case stories from the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, focused on Non-Economic Loss and Damage (NELD) in the context of the climate crisis.
While loss and damage (L&D) is often discussed in financial terms, non-economic losses and damages capture the harder-to-quantify impacts of climate change on life, health, mobility, culture, and heritage. This call invites RLS partners and networks from the Global South to submit case stories documenting specific examples of NELD, describing the climatic event(s) involved and providing empirical evidence of impacts on affected communities.
Key details:
– Submit a one-page abstract (up to 500 words) with a CV by September 30, 2026
– Selected authors will be notified by October 15, 2026
– Final papers (max 7 pages / 1,750 words, double-spaced) due November 15, 2026
– An honorarium of USD 2,000 will be offered for each completed case story that meets RLS publication standards
Submissions should be sent to Ms. Tetet Nera-Lauron, with a copy to Ms. Maria Savel, with the subject line: “Submission: Call for case stories on Non-Economic Loss and Damage.”
We encourage anyone in our network with relevant experience or connections to communities affected by non-economic loss and damage to apply or share this call widely.
