The Middle East Treaty Organization (METO), the International Peace Bureau (IPB), Blue Banner and the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung are pleased to invite you to a side event on the fringes of the 2025 TPNW MSP.
This side event will explore the role of national and regional approaches, particularly Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zones (NWFZ), in advancing global nuclear disarmament and stability. It will address the strengths and challenges of existing and aspiring zones, such as those in the Middle East, the Korean Peninsula, and Mongolia, and examine how civil society can close gaps and enhance inclusivity.
The discussion will look at the linkages between the NWFZs, the TPNW, regional geopolitical conditions and advancing global nuclear disarmament.
