In recent decades, the feminist movement in Latin America has made historic achievementsin the field of sexual and reproductive rights and the right to a life free of violence, which today face enormous risks and setbacks in the face of the anti-rights advances of some governments and social actors. In this event, we are interested in a dialogue on strategies to confront an uncertain scenario that requires local organization and regional and global articulation.
In this parallel event, we will explore answers to the following questions: How to shield the achievements of the women’s and feminist movement to protect rights in Latin America from the advance of anti-rights groups? What are the main risks posed by the expansion of the global far-right? How can we strengthen achievements in norms, policies, programs, and institutions on gender equality and diversity in a context of constant threat? How can we reinforce social consensus around gender equality?
